Ramadan Mubarak....

I rolled on some morning papers on the net and someone in the Huffingpost.ca was telling of his past 2 years experience in Calgary, and how Cowtown it was for him, being a Torontonian Born and Raised.

so I decided to run through some research on comparisons between Calgary and Toronto, from people reviews, to overall statistics.

First, Canada's Number One Stephen Harper declared that "Calgary is The greatest city in Canada". Stephen Grew up in Toronto, and he should have so many reasons to Love Toronto, but he picked Calgary.

• An Angus Reid public opinion poll released on Friday 11th of July suggested that Calgarians, at least, really like Calgary. Citizens of Cowtown reported having the best quality of life out of Canada’s four largest cities, with 87 per cent of residents saying they are satisfied. Toronto was third (behind Vancouver) with about 80 per cent saying they had it best. Public Opinion Poll

dealing Polls, numbers, statistics and some headaches, it might sound interesting that it rains more in TO than in Calgary, but it Snows more in Calgary and TO. Also, surprisingly still, Calgary is only city in Canada, where it can snow in Summer. Mossiba!  5sur10

Still with Statistics, The Cost of Living Comparison Between Calgary and Toronto reveals that: You would need around 5,023.44C$ in Toronto to maintain the same standard of life that you can have with 5,300.00C$ in Calgary (assuming you rent in both cities). This calculation uses our Consumer Prices Including Rent Index.

Indices Difference Info
Consumer Prices in Toronto are 10.41% lower than in Calgary
Consumer Prices Including Rent in Toronto are 5.22% lower than in Calgary
Rent Prices in Toronto are 6.21% higher than in Calgary
Restaurant Prices in Toronto are 15.10% lower than in Calgary
Groceries Prices in Toronto are 15.20% lower than in Calgary
Local Purchasing Power in Toronto is 10.31% lower than in Calgary

Enough with Statistics, Am fasting and the numbers make me faint!
I made a small selection of people experiences, reviews of both cities and it looks like TO Rocks!

I've lived in both cities and am floored that Calgary beat T.O. Public transportation sucks in Calgary -- really. Anyone who complains about the TTC needs a swift kick in the pants and a reality check -- try relying on Calgary transit for one week.

Culture, things to do with kids, you name it, T.O. is head and shoulders above Calgary.

I spend a lot in both cities and both have a lot of pros and cons, but seriously... comparing the multiculturalism and entertainment factor - not to mention the waterfront, museums, restaurants that Toronto offers, which are non existent in Calgary - is ludicrous. OK, maybe TO's mayor is a bit of a joke, but don't compare Calgary to Toronto. If you want to say Calagary is a better city than Orillia or North Bay, OK, I'll give you that.

Lived in both cities myself. Gotta say, I love Toronto. The number of activities, concerts, cultures, etc. blows Calgary out of the water.

But Toronto has nothing when it comes to nature. People claim you can go to cottage country, but battling traffic both ways on long weekends is ridiculous. And everything is way too developed, popular, or sold out. Nothing beats driving to the mountains and going hiking on a trail where there is zero other people.

I'd say that Toronto has better summers, Calgary has better winters (not in terms of weather)
